GEC is working with key Investor Owned Utilities and energy vendors for evaluating and supporting low latency messaging wire protocols and distributed control applications used at the edge of the grid. Leveraging GEC’s distribution automation domain experience and deep knowledge of messaging, various wire protocols like AMQP, MQTT and DDS are being applied to the Energy Internet of Things. This is paving the way for publish / subscribe technologies and new information architecture models to address the bi-directional flow of energy and communications.
